An extensive extended cruise around the Land Down Under was terminated following the tragic passing of an elderly female passenger who was left behind by the ship on a remote tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the party for a break. The vessel left without her and returned several hours later after the crew became aware the lady was unaccounted for.

A large-scale hunt located her remains the next day.

Investigative bodies are investigating the incident, in coordination with investigators and the state coroner.

Head of the cruise operator said that guests and crew on the ship were told that the remainder of the journey had been cancelled due to the "sad loss and prior mechanical issues".

Via official communication, he mentioned that passengers would be given a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to arrange the return journeys of the passengers via chartered flights".

Officials also released an revised communication, and said they had "delivered a directive to the Commander" prohibiting any new passengers from boarding the liner.

The official said that they would attend the ship in the port city upon its coming back.

She added that she wished the examination would be able to identify what "the company should have performed that might have preserved Mum's existence".

"According to reports from the police that it was a very hot afternoon, and mother took sick on the uphill trek," she explained.

"She was asked her to head down, without accompaniment. Then the boat sailed away, reportedly without conducting a passenger count.
