“That was regrettable. It was kind of an interaction with our fans seated near me,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not Jets fans, our fans. The entire stadium was filled with excitement for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the signal was completely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I simply put up the incorrect digit,” he noted. “It was accidentally performed. I’m not kidding. Should you call it accidental, you can. However, it got corrected pretty quick.”
